On February 25, 2025, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfiry welcomed a high-ranking delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church at the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade, consisting of His Eminence Metropolitan of Volokolamsk, Mr. Anthony, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, and Archpriest-Stavroph Nikolai Balashov, Advisor to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.
His Holiness the Patriarch was joined in the fraternal conversation with the distinguished guests by His Eminence Metropolitan of Bačka, Mr. Irinej, and Archpriest Đorđe Stojisavljević, Head of the Cabinet of the Serbian Patriarch.
During the day, the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church exchanged views on the challenges facing the Orthodox Church in a telephone conversation with His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and expressed hope for a quick and peaceful end to the conflicts and antagonisms.
