His Eminence Archbishop of Cetinje Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Mr. Joanikije received, on September 17, 2024, the President of the Assembly of the Capital City, Dr. Jelena Borovinić Bojović, in the Cathedral of Christ's Resurrection in Podgorica.

Metropolitan Joanikije and the president of the city assembly discussed the topic of cooperation and communication between the Metropolis and the Capital City, which has been improved compared to previous years. During the conversation, special attention was paid to the arrangement of the space around the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ. The participants of the conversation expressed their agreement on the importance of preserving the environment in Podgorica and improving relations between the Church and the Capital City.

Metropolitan Joanikije thanked the President of the Assembly of the Capital City for her interest in arranging the entire surroundings of the Cathedral of Christ's Resurrection, as well as for consistently advocating for the respect of the religious rights of churches and religious communities.

The President of the City Assembly shared with the Metropolitan her impressions from her recent visit to Kosovo and Metohija, during which she visited the Peć Patriarchate, the Visoki Dečani Monastery and the Church of St. Luke in Vitomirica.
