Calendar for September 7 Holy Apostle Titus
One of the Seventy. Born in Crete. In his youth, he studied Greek philosophy and poetry. After a dream, he began to read the prophet Isaiah, which made him suspect the wisdom of Jeline. When he heard about Christ, he went to Jerusalem with some other Cretans. Hearing the Lord's words and seeing His works, his heart clung to Christ. He was baptized by the apostle Paul, who calls him son (Titus 1, 4) and brother (Cor. 12, 18). He traveled a lot with the apostle Paul, who made him bishop of Crete. He witnessed the martyrdom of his spiritual father and teacher in Rome, and buried his body. Then he returned to Crete, where he baptized the Gentiles with great success and managed the Church of God. He passed away when he was 94 years old.
